Well our first day of school was exciting this year. James when off to 10th grade on the bus all alone for the first time in 10 years. Because Matthew was in the hospital. He had his ruptured appendix removed the night before. Life is always interesting with children. Matthew if doing fine and should be home in a day or two.

WAHOO
Today the guys went fishing with Mr. Sea-Ment. They caught a Wahoo and a Mai-Mai. Both were citations. Which means they are the biggest brought in to the harbor so far this year. So they get their name on the fish board and a paper that says they have the biggest fish so far. So tonight I will spend my night wrapping fish.

50
Well today was the day that I turned 50. I really thought I would feel bad about it, but I really feel no different then yesterday when I was 49. I remember when I turned 40 I felt bad and older, but today I feel good. I had my favorite dinner Louie's pizza and Kohr bothers ice cream the perfect meal:+) The big party celebration is this weekend, I'm sure my family will have all kinds of stories about the past 50 years. The party is in PA so we need to travel, but we haven't been there for awhile so it should be OK. So for all you folks out there turning 50 soon don't worry about it because it was no big deal:+) Just another day........

Car

Well we got the kids a car. I guess I should say we got a car for Jack and I. We seem to be driving it all the time. It is good on gas compared to the Suburban. This weekend the guys are going crabbing. I hope they come home with bushels of crabs because I'm really hungry for them. The weather has been great all week. And most important of all this week my children are gainfully employed. Matthew is a bus boy at the local country club and James is slinging fish guts on a fishing boat. I'm so proud of them. It is bitter sweet..they are maturing, but my babies are gone:+( Being a mother is the hardest job ever.

Summer
It has been a while since I posted. But the summer season is here and life is busy. The weather has been in the high 90's for several days. This is very early for 90 degree weather. It feels like August. The other day on the beach I was actually uncomfortable because it was so hot and humid. But I 'll take it anytime over cold and snow. The hotel has been full every weekend. I love when we have friends and family down. This weekend we are having a full house. My children are done with school tomorrow. James has a job, but of course Matthew does not. Well I guess he just won't be driving when the time comes. We also bought a car for the kids a Pontiac Grand Am. We test drove it last night, it belongs to some young girl who is hot. She sat in the back seat with James last night during the test drive. I'm sure he is in school telling all his friends that he was in the back seat with a hot blond. I'm sure he forgot the part where his parents were in the front:+) THE BODY also had an operation last week for a growth on her back leg. She is healing nicely and all is well with her. She actually got a get well card!!!!!

JROTC
My children received awards last night for their JROTC program at school. They always look dashing in their uniforms. James is a corporal and Matthew a sergeant. The ceremony was too long but nice. It is amazing how much support they get from the community. I like this program it teaches them a lot. During the program a mother of a graduate got up to talk. Her son was in this program and went on to join the service. While serving in Iraq he was killed. I respect what this program does for the kids, but I'm a selfish person and I pray that my boys choose not to serve in the armed forces during a time of war.

Finally

I have my computer back. It was not working AGAIN. This time it was the key board and the mouse. But now it seems OK. We had a really bad storm last week, it flooded a lot of roads and brought down trees. But we got things cleaned up. It is hard to believe Memorial day is this weekend. The weather is still chilly. Although I was on the beach on Saturday and got some sun. The beach is pretty messed up from the storm. I'm not sure how everyone is going to fit this year. We had guests in the hotel this passed weekend. And it will now be filled every weekend for the summer:+) I hope the weather soon warms up.

Wisdom Teeth
Today Matthew had his wisdom teeth removed. Does that mean he will now have NO wisdom at all? He had all four removed this morning. It had to be done because they were going to push that $5,000 smile of his. They knocked him out to do this and he was all happy and laughing when he first woke up. About one hour later that changed:+( But they gave us drugs to keep him sleeping for a few days so all will be OK. I remember having my wisdom teeth removed and it was not a good time, only then they put you in the hospital for three days. Now you are in and out of the Dr's office in an hour. And for some reason unknown to me Matthew asked the Dr. if he could have his teeth. Now we all know how much I love the dentist and anything to do with teeth. So there we are in the office getting ready to leave and the nurse hands me a little paper pouch with 4 bloody teeth in it. So imagine me standing there, Matthew in a wheelchair next to me laughing and being happy, the nurses all cleaning up getting ready for their next victim. They are giving me instructions for his bloody mouth that is now numb and he is drooling all over himself . And in the middle of all this they hand me this bloody pouch and all I can think of is "I can't put this gross pouch in my good Coach bag, so what do I do with it???????? Well I took a pack of tissues and wrapped it in them before I put it in my bag. Needless to say I ran home and removed them. They are now out in the garage waiting for Matthew, I don't know maybe he thinks the tooth fairy will come and take them, leaving him money for pain and suffering. Only I should be the one to get the money for pain and suffering.

Hooray
Hooray, Hooray, it's the 1st of May. The month that officially starts the summer. I know it's not until the end of the month but it's still this month. The weather is still not that warm yet, I'm hoping that changes soon. Today I also filled my car with gas. It cost me $70.00 that is the most I have ever paid. I think I might start riding the bus.

Busy
Things have been very busy around here. The kids are busy with school activities almost every night. We have been working outside in the flower beds and getting ready for summer. We also have been painting the living room. Hopefully that will be done at the end of the week. The weather is still a little cool. Not time for bathing suits yet. Also the hotel is getting booked up for the summer season already. It is hard to believe that people will drive to the beach when gas will be $5.00 a gallon by summer. But they will and they can thank our wonderful president for that. What a guy. The other night on world news they should George Bush playing band director with the Navy band and looking happy. While we are all sitting here going broke buying gas and food. It's a shame how he and his republican friends have run this country into the ground. We can only hope that the election will bring a change before he collapses this economy. I'll get off of the soap box now:+)

70
This past weekend we had a birthday party for my dad. He turns 70 on 4/23. Yes 70. We had a good time. Of course we started the party at 5:00pm and had to tell him to get dressed and take off his pajama pants. We started early so all the old folks could get to bed by 9:00pm. And yes they all left and were home by 9:00. It is hard to beleive that he is 70, that means I'll be 50. Time flies when your having a good life.

Back To Normal
My man is home:+) The kids are in school and I'm doing laundry. A typical Monday. The weather is starting to feel like spring. Yesterday we pulled all the weeds and prepared for the annual mulching event. This annual springtime event is the right of passage for spring to many people. We spend all day pulling weeds and turning the ground over. This event also unearths all of the sleeping worms, slugs, ants, and spiders. We cut down all the dead things from last year and prepare for new life. Then most people go spend hundreds of dollars on mulch. WHY?? Because is looks good, or does it have some nutritional value for the earth? Well I do it because it looks good, and we all know that is important. My house needs to look as good outside as in. But hopefully by spreading the mulch I'm helping the Earth in some small way, just like I do on Mondays when the weather is nice by hanging the laundry outside instead of using the dryer.

Fog Delay
Well the first fog delay of the spring season for school occurred this morning. It was a welcome delay for me since Jack is in Myrtle beach golfing I have to get up every morning this week to get the children off to school. But today we got to stay in bed two extra hours:+) Aunt Lisa comes tonight. She is going to be my date for the wrestling fundraiser since my man is on his man vacation. My tan from Aruba is just about gone:+( I hope the weather soon gets sunny and hot here so I can again get a little tan. The weather has been April showers this week. There was a scuffle across the street this week with the Russians. It was among themselves not me. One Russian came home and it appeared he has intoxicated, they were arguing outside then he tripped and fell over the hand rail breaking it. They all moved inside then so I missed the rest of the show. I should have left "The Body" out she would have taken care of them. She is just drying to get one of them. I think it's because she senses they are afraid of her. Oh well they all seem calmed down now. Speaking of "The Body" she is down for her mid-morning nap I hear her snoring.

While in Aruba Jack found a piece of coral that looked like a foot. So some days our entertainment would be to collect "foot coral" that reminded us of our dear friends back home. I hope you enjoy our humor.
original foot coral
Fred Flinstone flat foot coral
Bob W. bunion foot coral
Gail's bitched up foot coral after snowmobliing
"NO FOOT"coral what could have been if the snowmoblie fell harder:+)

Mr. Happy in Aruba

Our trip to Aruba was great, very eventful. There are so many things to tell. The first big event was the group picture with Mr. Happy :+) We also met some new friends their picture is after Mr. Happy. On Good Friday the day was not so good for a hotel guest named Frank. He was swimming and had a heart attack, unfortunately he died. The one thing I did learn was try not to die in a foreign country, because even though you are having a great time, they let you lay on the beach wrapped in towels forever. Good Friday was also Deb & John anniversary. But in Aruba his name is spelled "Don". Also there was some kind of weather event while we were there. The waves were huge and the tide came up into some of the hotel rooms in the middle of the night. Lucky for us we didn't have one of those rooms. But the weather did get Debbie wet having her morning coffee. We did partake in some local customs while there, one was after dinner shots out of the bottle. The local beer was also pretty good. I think we got our money from that all-inclusive feature. At night we would hold the sun countdown, that was a great way to end a hard day of drinking, eating and swimming. At night we would gather at the coconut bar for more alcohol consumption, and also to watch Matthew with his new family. He meet a girl and spent time with her family, they are from Chicago, so I guess he will be asking for plane fare this summer:+)

Here We Go
The bags are packed and we are ready to leave. Tonight we spend the night in Philly then tomorrow morning it's off to the sun and sand in Aruba. Grandmom is here to take care of "THE BODY" Life is good:+)

New Pictures
I talked to Stefanie today things are good in Germany. She sent me some new photos of the kids. They grow up so quick. It is another great day in Delaware. The sun is shinning, and it was warm enough to hang sheets outside. I love the smell of fresh sheets on the bed:+) The kids are getting ready to go trout fishing.

Summer is Coming
Well today had more signs that summer is on the way. We drove to Rehoboth today for Louie's pizza and Kohr's ice cream, they both opened today:+) Two of my favorite things. I was in heaven today. Louie's was full all the locals could smell that it was open and they came for good greasy pizza. As we were sitting there waiting for our delicious lunch my eyes noticed that it was every bright out today, after much discussion with my man about this we decided that it usually is not that bright in Louie's, that the reason must be because it was there first day open and there is no grease build up on the windows yet. Upon reading their new menu I found out that this is their 35th year of operation. And as long as I can remember (which is not 35 years) about 10 or so most of the same people are still working there also.

Finally
Well it was taken some time but yesterday I finally saw my first robin of the season. And since then I have seen about 10. I look forward to seeing a robin because that means that spring will soon arrive. And once spring is here you know what that means "BEACH". I have started to prepare things for our vacation next week in Aruba. The suitcases are down and the suntan lotion is ready:+) Grandmom and Carl are coming to take care of "The Body". They love the grand-dog!!!!!!!!!!!

Varsity
Matthew has made the varsity golf team at school. I think that is pretty great since he is only a freshman. And Jack is helping to coach the JV golf team. He just always needs something to do. Yesterday was two weeks until vacation. I getting excited. I can't wait to sit on the beach soak up the sun and drink beer. The weather here is also getting better the flowers are starting to come up and the birds are starting to sing. But I have not yet seen my first robin I'm looking everyday for one so I know that warm weather is officially on it's way.

Monday
What a great day weather wise. It makes wish it was summer. Today I did laundry in my finished laundry room that my man finally finished. It has only taken a year. That is the only thing I miss from my house in PA. The laundry room...This one is good but not as good as the other one was. Matthew has started golf practice every night after school. Jack is helping the coach out also with the kids. He always needs something to do.

good day
Today progress reports came home letting parents know how grades are half way into the making period. Things are looking good:+) I love when my kids have good grades. The world is in balance with everything else as long as they have good grades. It was also cold here today. I hope it soon warms up.. I'm ready for summer.

Children
Well today James got sent to the office in school for taking part in a prank. Spaying foul smelling spay in the hallway. Yes my son helped to spay "FART" spray at school. Well else can I say:+) Well it is getting closer to vacation time for us. I can't wait. I'll be soaking up the sun in a few short weeks.

Happy Valentines Day
I got some lovely roses today from my man. It snowed here last night just enough to make a two hour school delay. It is all gone already and the sun is shinning. But it is cold. The weekend hopefully will be bringing warmer weather.

What a week
Where should I begin........ Last Friday James got his big break and got to wrestle varsity. So we drive 40 minutes to watch him. Aunt lisa was here for the super bowl so she took care of Matthew. James goes out and not even a minute into the match the other guy head butts him. Of course his nose is bleeding all over the mat. They stop the match, pack is nose with cotton and continue. James gets pinned in the next minute. But before that the other guy throws off his head gear. the guy should have been disqulified for that. Jack goes down to see James, then calls me down. James is in so much pain that the tears are rolling down his cheeks along with the blood. Coach says "it will be OK" We leave the match James stays with his team. As soon as he gets home I take him to the ER. And yes he has a broken nose and a cucusion. Doctor says no more wrestling for the season. We go home after the drug store at 2:00am. Next night Aunt Lisa Jack and I go out to see a local group. Had a great time. The next moring I wake up sick as a dog. Throwing up and yes the other end too. Now two weeks before Jack and Matthew has this and I was making fun of Jack for yelling" I'm so sick" well I'll never make fun again. Because I felt his pain. And this is Super Bowl Sunday and we are having a party. Only I can't get out of bed. Aunt Lisa and Jack do a great job hosting the party. I didn't get out of bed until Tuesday. And I still don't feel great. And of couse the dog got sick aging too. I hope that all the sickness is out of this house. Then James comes home this week "Coach says they have a face mask I can wear too wrestle." So we take him to the doctor and he said OK with the mask. His nose is still swollen a little bit and they said in a few weeks they will decide what to do about it.

More Sickness
We have another victim. At 4:30 am today "THE BODY" woke me up vomiting. Yes dog vomit.... At least she didn't do it on the rug. And she has had dog diarrhea today also. But she has made it outside for that. I never thought that dogs could get human illness but she has had the same thing Jack and Matthew had several days ago. The poor body. She is looking better this afternoon. But she hasn't eaten all day. I'm sure tomorrow she will be back to her old dog self:+)

sickness
For the past 36 hours there has been the most disgusting germ in this house. It infected Jack and Matthew. Hopefully that will be all it infects. They both were sitting on the toilet while having their heads in a bucket. Not a pretty picture. But what was worse was the sound that a grown man can make when he is ill. The whining sound of a full grown man compares to nothing else I have ever heard in my life. I informed Jack that the next time in his life that he makes this sound I will video tape it. It probably would be put into the science books as a spices in some sort of pain. I am however amazed at how you can be expelling body fluids from two separate orifices and screaming at the same time. "I'm so sick" like I didn't already know that. Unlike the female species who would just be sick with the door closed and then return to bed quietly to finish her slumber. No we had to have every light on and the bathroom doors open yelling at the top of his lungs. "Help me I'm so sick." Good thing they don't give birth:+)

Saturday
Well today is a quiet day. One son is wrestling all day, and doing well (he called) and the other son and my man are golfing. Which is crazy to me because the weather is warmer the two days ago but not warm enough for me. When you have to wear long under ware to golf it's not warm enough. So I did what I do best, I went shopping:+) I got some good deals. I had to scope out the Coach store for next weekend. The girls are coming for a weekend shopping trip.

COLD
It is so cold the past few days. I hate it please summer hurry up. I can't wait until my children are grown so I can move some place where the is no cold weather, no blustery wind and certainly no snow. Until that time I will just stay inside for the winter.

The End
Well here it is again, the end of the year. The time when everyone looks forward to a clean slate, a new beginning, a start-over:+) Also it is the time to make promises that most of us don't keep. That's why I don't do resolutions. So I wonder why people do this at the end of the year. Why not do it every week or even once a month. Why only once a year. If we did it once a month we could have at least twelve times to get it right.

Gone

Christmas has come and gone already. We had a really nice quiet holiday. Grandmom and Grandpa Carl come for the holiday. Now Sandy and Gary are here for a few days. The hotel filled again. I love when the hotel is filled. Christmas weather wise was so great this year in the 50's. Today is going to be another great day. I got a new Coach bag from my man for Christmas, which is beautiful. I also bought myself a new Coach bag because I'm so special.

Getting Ready
Everyone in our house is getting ready for Christmas, even "The Body". Today she got a bath, brushed, and got her bed washed. She is also wearing her Christmas collar so she is ready. I wish that's all I had to do to get ready. I'm almost done wrapping gifts, which to me is the worse part of Christmas. They should come already wrapped. Just think of all the money you could save on wrapping paper, bows, ribbon, gift tags, and tape. You could use all that money to purchase other things like the pair of most gorgeous Cinderella shoes I saw last night at Coach. I would wear them everywhere even if they do have three inch heels:+)

Christmas Time
This weekend we put up a Christmas tree, it's beautiful as always. Why is it that this time of year there never seems to be enough time. It doesn't matter if you are working outside the home or a retired queen like me there is never enough time to go around. Today I will also bake more Christmas cookies. Last weekend I baked millions of them and they are almost gone. Next weekend Grand mom comes for Christmas I'm excited we will have our first Christmas dinner in this home. Today we also started wrapping Christmas gifts. This is the part I dislike the most. I like putting the ribbons on but not wrapping them in paper.
Also as you can see in the picture my annual gift to myself, Holiday Barbie is under the tree

Home Again

So much has happened since my last post. My trip to Germany was great, I got to be Oma Kathy for 10 days. Seeing my German family is great but leaving them is hard. I wish Germany and Delaware where closer. The pictures are of Paulina and Finn. My two sons are now deer slayers. James got his the first day and Matthew got one today. The holidays are fast approaching and I feel "not ready". So today I tried to start feeling ready. I baked Christmas cookies all afternoon. The house smells great just like a cookie candle. I baked three different kinds and tomorrow I plan to bake two ore. So now I have lot of cookies tins sitting on the counter.

Packing
Today I started packing some things for my trip to Germany next week. You ask why I started so early. Well let me tell you my schedule starting Wednesday morning. We get up and drive 3.5 hours to PA. for Thanksgiving. The men in the family are going deer hunting on the Monday after the holiday so I need to pack for them. I need 5 days worth of clothing plus hunting gear. After we eat our holiday dinner on I will travel back to Delaware with my cousin to go black Friday shopping. We will shop all weekend. Then I will travel back to PA with her on Monday. Once arriving there I will go to the airport with my sister since she is also going to Germany. BUT I have to take most of my luggage with on Wednesday to PA because when I go back on Monday we are traveling in a mid size car with all of black Friday shopping in it. So there will not be a lot of room for all of my luggage. I'm tired just thinking about this. So today I packed one suitcase filled with Christmas gifts for my German family. ( I will say a little prayer tonight that it is under 50lbs.) 50 lbs.!! that's all your suitcase can weight:+( I can take 50 lbs worth of shoes and purses. What is the sense of being a great packer when you can only put 50lbs. in a suitcase. The challenge has always been to see how much you can get in a suitcase. The airlines really need to back off the weight restrictions. Because 50lbs. just is not enough. I think men should only be aloud 40 lbs. and women should be aloud 60lbs. Men only need one pair of shoes and no purses. I hope someone from the airlines reads this and takes my suggestion.

Sunny Day

What a great day. The weather was 60 degrees today. It was so nice we drove to OC and walked on the boardwalk. Why can't the weather be like this all winter long? I woke up today and my children still had A's on their report cards, so it wasn't a dream. I'm the mother of kids with A's I also took some pictures today of the house and "THE BODY" I will attempt to put her picture in this post. She was also enjoying the beautiful day.

Heaven
Today I feel like I'm in heaven. I feel like I'm floating on air. With a chocolate cupcake, a beer, and weighing in at 110 lbs. I know you are all wondering why I feel like a queen today. Well let me tell you: Today is report card day and my children came home with A's. One son had three and the other had four. I have not seen these good grades since 5th grade. Middle school was the worst. I only hope that high school continues to be this good.

Heads UP
The 22nd annual World Championship "Punkin Chunkin" was held this weekend. And again what a great time. If you have a list of things to do in your life this should be on it. To witness the throwing of pumpkins (some almost a mile) and all the hoopla that goes along with it, is an event you can only experience in person. I could write about all the ways the color orange is used, and all the lingo that goes along with this event, but I would not do it justice. We tailgated, witnessed the "Chunkin", drank beer, danced to the live music, and always watched for "falling pumpkins." Because the do misfire sometimes.

Football
Last night my sons had their last game of the season. And it ended in a tie!!!!!! A tie!!!!! What good is a tie? A tie is like taking your sister to prom and embarrassment. Let's have OT. When you have a competition you have to have a winner and a loser. So they ended the season with 4 wins, 1 lose, and 1 tie. They had a good year considering they only had 16 guys on the team. All the other teams had enough for an offense and a defense, but not Cape they played all the time on both offense and defense. So now I'm done with stinky sweaty football jersey's and it is on to stinky sweaty singlets.

Clean Garage
Yes we cleaned the garage today, and now my car is in it's rightful place. As lady of the house I should always have a warm dry car to put my goddess self in. My car sat outside last winter in this new house, because the garage was full of stuff. But that will not happen this winter. I never understood why people have garages if they don't put their cars in them. Lots of people use them as extra storage. But if you have that much stuff get a bigger house or get rid of the junk. It is still raining in lower Delaware, but according to the news we are still below normal rain fall for the year.

Rainy Day
It rained here for the first time in weeks maybe even months. It rained a little off and on all day until 4:00pm when my boys started their football game. Of course it started pouring then. At half time it started to lighting, after a delay they had to call the game, so Cape won by one point. They only have one loss this season. This Friday my children turn 15. I still can't believe it. Tomorrow we get company for the weekend. I really enjoy having friends and family here. Also this week I have to vote for Dancing with the stars to win the most entertaining reality show this week. Marie Osmond fainting on live TV was the best. I personally think she passed out because she got a look at herself in that dress:+)

Thursday
Today is another fine day in lower Delaware, the weather is in the 70's which is great. Not time for jackets and long pants yet. Today I can still wear shorts and sandals. I hate wearing a lot of clothing. Which you would think that I would like a lot of clothing to cover up my almost 50 year old fat, but I don't:+) Next week my children will turn 15, I can't believe it. It's seems like yesterday I was holding them in my arms. Sometimes life just moves too fast.

Organize
All weekend I have been re-organizing things in my home. I have a hard time understanding how things can get un-organized. I just can't seem to get a flow in this house. I guess I shouldn't get too excited since it took me 20 years to get my other house flowing. But I now have a work place for myself, a place where I can do things. Things like wrap gifts, do crafts, read books,...etc, etc, etc. Since Christmas is coming I needed somewhere to put gifts and wrap them. So I took a space and made it mine. I think I will even put a picture of "The Body" in my space. Since she is a female she will be the only other life form I will allow in the space. I will make it a females only space. Since I am putting a picture of "The Body" in my space I think I will put one of her on my blog for everyone to see:+)

Arrivial
We have a new baby. It's a boy this time Finn Maarten. He is so handsome. So last night I booked my flight to Germany to meet him. It has been raining here off and on for the past few days. The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting cooler. Please winter hurry up and get here so you can leave and it can be summer again. Tomorrow the kids have off from school so it will be a work day for me.

Vacation
School in back in session and my man and I are on a 180 day vacation:+) The weather has gotten cooler in the past week. Too cool for me, but not cool enough for long pants. Jack is out working on his lawn, his goal is to have a golf course lawn. The hotel has been full this month so far. This past week was bike week in Ocean City, so all the Harley's went through town they are quite impressive riding in their packs. This cooler weather makes me sad, because I know winter is coming. I can't wait for the day when I live somewhere winter does not show it's ugly face:+)

Moving too fast

Summer is moving way to fast for me. Next weekend is Labor day. The unoffical end of summer. The time when the kids go back to school, the days get shorter, the sand gets cooler, and the beer consumtion goes down. It seems like yesterday was the beginning of summer. We had our official Beach Gang photo last week. With summer coming to a close I wonder what my retired husband and I will do this winter. Since the house additions are almost complete, we will need to find another project

Birthday month
This is a very busy month for birthday's in my family. I have a hard time keeping track of them all. The house construction is still on going. I hope with in two weeks it will be over. I feel like I say that every two weeks. The kids have six more weeks of school vacation poor me. My sisiter came to visit this weekend. We went out Friday night dancing, we had a great time. She always tells men her name is Sally. Well the next day one of those guys came out to the beach looking for her. He came up and said "Hi Sally "how are you. Well needless to say we all laughed. This weekend my girlfriend Sherry will visit. The hotel is always full. The summer weather has been great. We have been on the beach a lot on the weekends.

Busy Summer
It's been a while since I have posted. Things have been very busy in southern Delaware. My husband of 25 years and I went to Las Vegas and got remarried by Elvis. It was great. The weather was HOT.....triple digets.............A week after we left someone open fire on the casino we stayed at NY.NY. Lucky we didn't go a week later. Last week the 4th of July was great also, the weather was not so great but we still have our annual picnic on the beach, and stayed for the fireworks. My brother and his family came to visit that was nice since I don't see them often. The weather since then has been very hot in the 90's. We are still working on the house it is a never ending project. Also the dumpster police called and said we have to remove the dumspter that has been in our driveway for several months. Some people just have no life. It was full so it was time for it to go. And it was starting to smell:+( The kids were away for awhile up in PA. I missed them, but now they are back fighting I wish we could send them away again. Why is that, as parents we wish for some alone time, but then we wish they were back, and they they are we wish for some alone time again. Life is never easy. Well I think we will go to the beach for a few hours today it is going to be 96:+)

Well time to get to work.

NASCAR
Now that we are Delaware residents we attended the Annual NASCAR race in Dover which is also the capital, and were I drive to if I need to shop at a mall. So Saturday we headed up north to stay with some friends for the pre-race party. Which lasted until 2:00am. Then at 6:00am it was time to get up and head to the race track. The weather was cloudy at best. But we got there, paid our 30 dollars to park in someone's yard and unloaded our grills, chairs, food, and beer. So at 7:30 am we were cooking eggs and drinking beer. Things were going pretty good until about 11:00am when mother nature decided to rain on our parade. Although we did take rain gear just in case, our gear was no match for the heavy rain that started. So heavy that the race was postponed until Monday. No one in our group could make the race on Monday so we got 3 more tickets and decided to take the boys out of school to attend. I was not originally going into watch the race, I was just going for the party. So today we made the 30 minute trip to Dover for the race. Things were going well until we got into Dover when the traffic came to a dead stop. So we missed the beginning of the race, although we did have the radio on to here"Gentlemen start your engines". So parking was free today, but we parked a million miles away, and everything was muddy from the rain. But we finally got in, sat down and watch the race. Now when you enter the bleachers you can not talk anymore because all you can hear is the very loud roar of the cars. Also by the end of the race you are covered with little pieces of black rubber from the tires. It burns off and flies up and attaches to your body. Also your ears will be ringing for hours. NASCAR fans are a different breed of people. First, all the men wear tank tops with their hairy armpits showing and their favorite driver on the front. All the women wear shorts that are threes times too small for them also with a shirt of their favorite driver. Sneakers with white socks are the prefered footwear. A cooler packed with Budwieser is attached to each one of them. And if you are a true fan you are wearing headphones attached to your mate with a reciever that is linked to the tracks announcer. PLUS some of them have mics so you can talk to your parnter. I guess that is nice for when you say "pass me a beer bitch" The kids really enjoyed the day. I also enjoyed taking in all the sites. So I guess we will have to make this an annual event.

Wedding
Well the wedding was a success. I few minor problems, but nothing that could not be fixed. The bride and groom are off on their honeymoon. That had a bumpy start for the groom(hangover). So now we are back to construction. We need to get this done....NOW....so we can start to enjoy the summer. The weather has been great. jack is finishing the dinning area, we will then paint the master and move into the master bath. That is the last room YEA......This has been a long process and I'm glad it is soon done. We did manage to get to the beach for two days, and it was great.

Wedding weekend
This weekend is Katy's wedding. I will be leaving Friday for the weekend. The wedding is only on Sunday, so the rest of the family will arrive Sunday morning. I sure it is going to be a great weekend. The weather is suppose to be great. The hard part will be "What To Wear?" Why do women stress over things like this? I have several new dresses to choose from, but as of right now I don't feel good in any of them. I mean everyone will be looking at the bride why should I worry what I have on? But as a women I'm sorwn to a code of ethic to always look my best. I also have a small reading part for the wedding so everyone will be looking at me at sometime, so I need to look great. I mean women have to have the whole package nails, hair, clothing, shoes, matching purse and jewery. Men have none of that. They put on a suit the same one they wear to all weddings, shirt and maybe a new tie. And as the mother af the family I also have to dress the children. Dressing to teenage boys is not easy. But I think they are ready to go. Today wea re also working on the house AGAIN like everyday. I think we can finally see light at the end of the construction tunnel, a few weeks yet. But not soon enough because beach weather is here.

It is raining at the beach today, rainy and cold. You have to wear long pants. The hotel is booked for the weekend, and into next weekend. Everyone wants to come and visit, only thing is we are not done with the house. The hotel part is done so it's ok. I can't wait until the rest is done and then I can go to the beach!!!!!!! Next weekend is Katy's wedding I'm so excited:+)

Sunny Day
What a great day. The tempature is about 82. the past few days have been busy, We have had guests in the new Kersey Hotel, or Motel 7 as we have been referring to it. Over the weekend Aunt Lisa was here. We went fishing and Mattew was casting his rod and not looking what he was doing and Lisa and I were walking along and not really looking around, and yea you guessed it the hook hit Lisa right in the chin. So we had to make a trip to the Beebe ER for hook removal. Last yea "THE BODY" tried to eat a hook and had to go to the vet for hook removal, but her's only cost $80.00 I'm sure Lisa's cost a lot more. Yes I did get pictures. Then after Lisa left, Grandma and Grandpa came. So today I took them to Dover to play slots. We had a nice time. They leave on Thursday they my girlfrined Sherry and her family will be here until Sunday. So the new hotel it booked up already. Next week my goddaughter gets married so it will be wedding week. I will be having a great time. Hopefully Katy will also soon. Right now she is Bridezilla.

Sad
The neighbors across the street have moved out. We will miss them. They are a young couple. He is a teacher and she works at the local hospital in the ER. He always played with the boys they are really missing him. They have no one to play football and baseball with them. Now they will be bugging me all the time. The house is a rental and now it is rented to some Russian kids that have imported here to lower DE. My husband is not happy about this. Hopefully they will be nice kids. Although last night "The Body" already chased one into the house. A few summers ago there were some Russian kids in the house and they were not very friendly, I hope this time is better.

Almost Done
Well "Motel 6" is almost done. That's what my sister calls the new guest room. Just a few odds and ends and it will be ready for guests. Also over the weekend I have been adjusting to my new eyes. Lasik surgery is as close to a miracle as I will ever get. I can wake up and see the time on my clock. Life doesn't get much better then that. Everyday things are becoming clearer. The weather is also great right now. I think summer will soon be here. The patio is also done now, and Mr. Sea-Ment is gone. The patio is great what a great party spot it is going to be.

Sunday
Will spring ever get here? I wish I knew the answer to that question. Now it is raining, raining, raining. I guess that is better then snow. People else were are snowed in. Construction was moving along, but now we have a rain delay. Mr. sea-ment, the mason can't work while it is raining. As soon as the weather breaks he will pour the patio and then the mud will be history. mr. sea-ment whose name is Warren and his son who's name is Nelson, but they call him George, figure that one out. They like it here also they love my chocolate cake. The kids go back to school tomarrow YEA, spring break is over.

Weather
It is cold and windy here today. Were is the warm beach weather. I thought it was on it's way. Today is the last school day for my children for a week. Why do parents need to be punished at holidays? Who made up the rules for time off school??? I did some painting today in the new bathroom. That bathroom is so big you could live in it. I don't know what my man was thinking when he built it.

Ham
Who would have thought that finding a ham for Easter dinner would be so hard. Well it is in southren DE. No one has the kind I like. It took me several days and road trips to finally find the perfect one. one good enough for my first Easter dinner in my new kitchen. we will be having company from PA. and I want everything to be wonderful. it rained he today actually a thunderstorm. it was great I love thunderstorms. i wonder why that is???? My cousin hates them. When she was a kid and it stormed her mom always made the whole familyg o into the living room and sit on the couch until the storm passed. Now I think that is strange. i also so my construction buddies today they were working down the street and stopped to say hello. The first thing out of their mouths "hey where was the hot chocolate today." My man is still golfing down south and my children are still bad, so life is still the same:+)

Painting
My man and I have been painting all week. painting the huge additions added to our home. You don't know how big they really are until you paint them. And we only have one almost done. But since I'm the painter it's OK for me as the painting contractor to use the bathroom:+) The kitchen is finally done. So I have been cooking, but not as much as I would like because I'm painting. Why don't they make a paint that evaporates when it hits the floor or your body? Each day you can tell what color is on the wall because it is on us. Thank heaven for water based paint or we would be too colorful to go out in public. I will be glad when this is all done. June 1st is our deadline. also this week there were two big fires in lower Delaware. on the same night. the local watering hole down at the docks was burned to the ground. It's so sad. i don't know where I'm going to go for watering now.

Drywall
So today the drywall men come. A whole van of them and only one speaks english. The guy who owns the company comes along and sets everything up with the foreman, the only one who speaks english. They unload all their stuff out of the van: including a microwave. Yes a mircowave to cook all the lunches. During lunch "The Body gets a smell of their lunches and goes after the one guys sandwich. He has to run away and up on to the van to keep his sandwich out of "the body's" hungry jaws. They start yelling for Jack, because I'm out shopping. So what does Jack do, he runs for the camera to take a picture of how "the boby" has the mexican guy on the van trying to get his lunch. They did offer to give her their beans but Jack said no. They were fast, all done hanging drywall in 5 hours. And yes while I was gone Jack said they used the bathroom. So again I had to clean the bathroom because of the construction guys. And these guys used all the Chairman so I know what they were doing:+(

Sunny Day
Today the sun is so bright. It is melting all the snow. They cancelled school today. Because of a little snow. Today A/C Adam is back. He is working right outside the window were the computer is. I don't think he knows that I'm in here because he is using several four letter words while preforming his job:+) He also of course had to use the restroom today. This is the first time since the job johnny is gone that he asked to use it. Now I really like Adam, but, why don't people turn on the fan and spray when they are done using any bathroom. I have the spray sitting right next to the toliet. And the fan is right on the wall. All you have to do is turn it on. Do people not smell the air they create in the bathroom? The Body was outside today running in the snow and the mud. She loves it. Hopefully this mess of snow and mud will be gone by the weekend and spring will be on it's way. It is suppose to be in the 50's this weekend. It's time for spring I saw a robin last week.

Construction continues
Well the shell of the additions is complete. All of my favorite construction guys are gone. Chicken George, Roofer Bob,Pick-up boy Phil, Chef Sasha, Eagle Bob, Brother John, and Roman blue eyes. I gave them all nick names so I could remember them better. Gone also is the Job Johnny. Now we have A/C Adam here. There were two plumbers here also, I didn't like them at all. They always had to use the bathroom. The house bathroom because remember the job johnny is gone. It was some guy and his dad who looked like he should have been on a America's Most Wanted. But they are also gone. Today the gas men came to bury the gas tank, and of course they cut the cable wire. Also today I helped my man cut the insulation to the correct lenghth 8ft. And then I stuffed all in the walls for him while he stapled it down. But of course I put them all in the same way with the printing correct. Now if anyone ever rips out the walls they will say, "wow someone really love their job they put all the printing the same way." It is also snowing here today in southren DE. And the children are getting home early from school. It is only snowing 1 -4 inches but here they think it is a lot.

Sunshine
What a beautiful day today. I even got up at 7:30am, just so I could enjoy more of the nice day. The temp. is suppose to be in the mid 50's today. I can walk outside with just a light jacket on. The phone just rang and on the other end was the guy who will be here on 2/27/ to install my counter top. Can this day get any better:+) The construction guys are here today putting on the front porch. And using their own bathroom. Getting back to the wonderful weather today, my flowers are starting to poke their heads up also to enjoy the sunshine. I can feel spring in the air, it's on the way, and that means all the things that I love most in life will soon be here.

Here we go again
Well a new kitchen installer showed up today since the other one left and never came back. This was my new favorite person until.......you guessed it he just went and used the bathroom. he didn't even ask. AND there is a job Johnny outside, nicely decorated I might add. Why does this always happen? When I'm in someones home I always ask to use the restroom. I know this house looks like a construction site but why do these guys have to act like the pigs they are?????? Maybe I should put up a sign in the bathroom door. Out of Order, For Owner Only. What is a women to do when people have no manners?

Snow
Well it snowed here in lower Delaware. About one whole inch. And yes they closed the schools!! Can you believe it. So now my children are home today ....all day...It is still cold here. The sun is shinning now, do you think if I called the school and reasoned with them that they would open up for the afternoon?

Burrrrrrrrr
It is cold outside. It's so cold that even my hand lotion that I keep in the car froze. The construction workers could not even work because the siding for the house was cracking as they were trying to hang it. Yesterday I had to make them 2 rounds of hot chocolate to keep warm. well Wednesday the drywall is to be delivered. And the kitchen is still not finished.........I was tryong to pick out tile today for a back splash. that is hard work. Why can't someone just go into my dreams and see how I dream of the kitchen and then pick everything out for me and put it in. I could go on vacation while this is being done and come back when it is all done. That would be the best.

Job Johnny
Well the construction workers ordered there own job Johnny (portable toilet). It now stands tall right next to the dumpster in the drivway. They delivered it the other day. When the truck came to deliver it there were four on the truck. I was thankful they only dropped off one. Since I have been taking care of the construction workers in every way except letting then use the bathroom, I thought I would make the job Johnny look respectable. So when they left for the day I decorated it with curtains, some potpourri for the smell, a nice rug on the floor, and some lovely plastic flowers. They loved it. They talked about it all day. The one guy even brought his wife over to see it, and they all took pictures with their camera phones. Maybe there could be a market out there for this I could open the first professional job Johnny decorating company. Any suggestions on a name for the company??????

Weekend work
Well the construction guys showed up today just three of them the rest are at the other job in Dewey. They can about 10:00 and only worked until one which was OK since they were not going to work at all until I told them we could drink beer after they were done. So when they were done for the day we sat back and pouned a few in the drivway since it was 54 degrees. What a great day it was the sun was shinning, and I was drinking beer. Life is great. Plus for the small price of a case of beer I got a few more hours of work out of the construction guys and that brings the end of this mess several hours closer:+) They should be done by the end of next week IF the weather holds out, NO RAIN OR SNOW ALLOWED..........

Brownies
Well today is brownie day for the construction workers. Yesterday they told me they brought milk for the cookies. But I didn't bake yesterday. So I told them i would make brownies for them today. So for break they will have brownies and a smoke:+) Yesterday they got the on roof framed up and the other side has walls. Once they get going they move. Now we are in slower lower Delaware so they are not starting until 8:30am. Then they all come together in several cars. And the one is a female, she usually has differnet color hair everyday. She is not here yet, must have been a long night for her. Well there goes the timer the brownies are done.

Construction workers
They are a strange breed, they come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. One thing they all have in common is smoking. There are at least 10guys here today and everyone of them smokes. Also maybe there are only 9 guys, we think one maybe a female. Jack and I have been watching out the window and we are pretty sure one is female. But Jack said the kids will know for sure when they get home from school. They started at 8:00am. They unloaded the lumber truck, and all there tools and went to work. It is now 12:30 and the have the floor almost built. They certianly are fast group. Or maybe they work fast to keep warm since it is only about 40 degrees outside. I baked cookies for them also this morning, I figured they would work better if they think I am a nice person by baking for them. I think it worked. Well soon I will be enjoying me new bathroom' laying in my new spa watching TV and my new fireplace. And the best part, NONE of them have asked to use the bathroom:+)

Weekend
Today is Saturday, a day most people look forward to. Not me, you ask why? Because my children are home on the weekends. Sometimes I feel like a failure as a parent. The number one son just doesn't get it. I don't know what to do anymore. He is so mean and hateful I just can not believe that this is my son. Where do parents go when they are exhausted and at the end of the line????????

Winter
It has arrived. It is cold here now. And it is going to stay cold for a few weeks now. The kitchen remoldeling is at at a stand still waiting for the cabinet that they forgot to order. They are starting the addition framing work on Monday YEA. The new fridge is still great we can get ice water now without opening up the doors...life is great. I have been using the new oven and dishwasher, they are working good. Went to PA this past weekend. It was OK but I love coming home to the beach:+) A new season Of American Idol has started....and it is as entertaining as always. Time to go watch it.....

Fridge
The new fridge came yesterday. It is the best one ever. It took 4 guys and weights 700lbs. All my food looks great in it. It is stainles steal so it looks great. Now the kitchen is starting to come together. Of course there are a few problems 1 missing cabinet which really throws everything off. Also some scratches and bumps but everything will be replaced. I really am going to be the domestic goddess...

Shopping
Today I set out to exchange a sweater I got for Christmas because it had a spot on it. So after that I wondered into the Lenox outlet. They were having a 75% off sale on everything in the store. WOW. 1st I had to stand in line for a cart, that took 15 minutes. Then I shopped for about 1 hour, then stood in line for 1 1/2 hour but I had such a good time I saw my old neighbor in line and meet some new friends. I was born to shop. And I saved 600.00. What a wonderful day I had. Oh plus I got some wedding gifts and Christmas gifts fo this year. Now the delivery men just called and my new kitchen cabinets will be here in 15 minutes. Can this day get any better!!!!!!

Construction
Well construction continues. Now I have no kitchen. The fridge is still here and plugged in but that is all that is in the kitchen. We are now using all paper products. And if we can't I'm forced to wash dishes by hand in the powder room sink:+( But it will all be worth it. The electritian was here today, a women.....She did not ask to use the bathroom but she does talk to herself, all the time. Even the dog was looking around to see if there was anyone else in the house, because we heard talking coming from behind the plastic wall that is constructed in the kitchen to try and keep the dirt from the rest of the house. She will be back tomorrow, with a helper. I wonder if she still talks to herself then or her helper? Why does one talk to one's self? I know I do it. What satisfaction do we get from holding a conversation with one's self? Is it because we know that we will be correct in the conversation no matter which end we are on? Or does it make us feel more comfortable knowing there are two sides to every conversation?

No place like home
Pushed the wrong button the first time. We went away for the holidays this year. This was the first time I had ever been away for Christmas. We went to Germany to see our German Family. It was great to see them and see the things that they do for the holidays. Like the Christmas angel, ringing the bell when you can enter the Christmas room. And everyone setting off fireworks at new years eve. They are legal only for that one day. And when I say everyone I mean everyone, there are firworks every where, you don't know which way to look. The weather was cold most of the time not like this warm DE sunshine we are having now, 60 degrees today. It was great to see my two favorite girls and to spend time with them. We got to play dress up everyday. And I miss them so much already. But like the saying goes there is no place like home. It is always great to sleep in your oun bed and shower in your own shower. The rest of our vacation went good. The only two problems we had were that the number 1 son broke his left ankle. And the plane ride home was the ride from H-LL. So the airline will be getting a nasty note from me. Now we are home and all the wash is done:+) 8 loads of it yesterday.
