Another ungy dress
OMG!!!! Did anyone watch Dancing With The Stars last night and see the dress that Samantha Harris was wearing? Who dresses this women. She is an attractive women but in that dress last night she looked like she was abducted by a gold alien and it was still hanging from her shoulder. Good thing the season was over last night I don't think I could take another bad dress.
On another note we are in PA now for the Thanksgiving holiday. So last night I slept on the old futon with the wood stove on full blast. Needless to say I didn't sleep well at all. I hate when it is so hot and everyone else loves it. Maybe I should sleep on the patio tonight. So now I am getting ready to go to my favorite place THE DENTIST (not). Then I will hook up with some friends and drink away all the pain that he will inflict on me. HAPPY THANKSGIVING:+)

Pumpkin Roll
I did it I made pumpkin rolls today. I used to always buy these because I was afraid to make them. I could never understand how they rolled them up with out breaking. BUT a few days ago on the food network I saw someone do it. It looked simple and yes it was simple. So now I'm not only queen of the kitchen I'm queen of the pumpkin rolls. Now I will dazzle everyone at Thanksgiving dinner with my pumpkin rolls. After we are all done stuffing ourselves until we feel sick, I will bring out the rolls and they will look so mouth watering that even though we could not take another bite of food, we will!!!!!!!! Thank you food network.

Gasoline
Yesterday I filled up my vehicle with gasoline. What a happy time it was. I have not felt that good about going to the gas station in years. Thirty dollars is all it cost to fill my tank. I was over the moon. The price per gallon here in lower Delaware was $1.87 yesterday:+) I know it will not last long and by the summer it will be $4.00 per gallon again. But until that time I hope all the oil men of the world are enjoying their swim in the crude oil they have in inventory.

Update
So much has been going on since my last post. I will try to review all the important things. First of all the fashion police really need to get on the stick. In the last week i have seen two women in the news wearing the worst dresses ever. First Michelle Obama what was she thinking on election night here is a women that is going to be a trend setter and she wears an ugly dress. next last evening on DWTS (dancing with the stars) Samantha Harris had on a dress even uglier the Michelle Obama. What is this world coming too when women in the spot light don't dress for success?
Next my children had report cards this week. One did well the other did not I'll let all of you who know me decide which is which. and that is all I'm going to say about that.
Now for the good news. My goddaughter is having a baby:+) So i guess that means I'm going to be a grand godmother. So now my BFF Nin and I will start canvasing the local stores for summer maternity clothing and baby items. I have already purchased a Halloween onsie for the little one.
Now for the depressing news. We have put the Jeep away for the winter so that means that summer is really over. I held on as long as possible. The days are shorter and colder and I have not had shorts on outside for a while:+( I hate to wish for time to go faster but please hurry summer of 2009.

My pick for best hat this year
Lisa & Sarah in the best attireWell it was that time of year again. When people from all over the world get together in lower Delaware too see who can throw a pumpkin the longest distance. This year we have a new world record, 4,483.51 ft. For those of you who who are not mathematically incline 1 mile is 5280 feet. So these pumpkins are flying close to a mile. The world record holder this year is Young Glory a fellow Delawarean. So the bragging rights have come home to Delaware. Anyone interested in learning of this tradition you can go to http://www.punkinchunkin.com/ Also what is amazing is these people don't do this not for money most of the money collected goes to charity they do it for bragging rights. This year we only saw one misfire. That's when the pumpkin goes backwards into the crowd. If this happens everyone yells heads up and you better take cover. It hit a car and put one heck of a dent in it. And let me mention what a beautiful weekend it was in lower Delaware for this event. The temperature was in the high 60's. So enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the event.

My babies
Today my boys turn 16. Can you believe I have 16 year old boys. They are growing up way to fast for me. So for their birthday weekend, Friday they had a sleep over with some friends. Then Saturday they slept at their friends houses. And today their actual birthday they spent with their mom and dad. We had a nice relaxing day. The phones were ringing all day with wishes for their birthday. We went out for dinner and then came home for ice cream cake. You know when you kids are babies everyone says enjoy it because they grow up too quickly they are right. I hate that times goes by so quickly. Enjoy the pictures.

He had a good time. Also Ninny and YOvonne came to visit this weekend. We shopped all weekend it was just like old times. The weather turned to fall this weekend. It was in the 80's on Thursday, then on Friday it got chilly. So I guess summer is over. I was even forced to put on a pair of jeans on Saturday. But I still have on flip flops no real shoes yet:+) James is actually smiling on the pictures since he got his braces off:+)

Baskets
This past week I went to O HI O to see where Longaberger baskets are made. I saw all kinds of baskets, big ones, small ones, green ones, brown ones, and I also saw a building shaped like a basket. I met 2 of the 12 longaberger children. # 12 and # 4 (they all have numbers). I also purchased a few baskets. While in the factory you can also make your own basket, I chose not to do this because it looked like to much work for me, and I was on a mini vacation. so now my life is complete because I saw the Longaburger(Longenecker) homestead:+)

Light at the end
Yes there is light at the end of the appendix tunnel. Matthew had a Dr's appointment today. he still has to keep his staples in until next week. BUT he can return to school on Monday:+) Today we also told Matthew that he can not take driver's ed until next semester which is in November. He needs to have so many hours in and because of his surgery he has already missed to much according to the laws. He is not a happy camper right now, but things happen which are out of our control. So I still have to keep playing nurse and pack his wound everyday. So now James will be driving before Matthew, and we will have to listen to the complaining until Matthew is driving. Being a parent is the hardest job ever!!!!

WAHOO
Today the guys went fishing with Mr. Sea-Ment. They caught a Wahoo and a Mai-Mai. Both were citations. Which means they are the biggest brought in to the harbor so far this year. So they get their name on the fish board and a paper that says they have the biggest fish so far. So tonight I will spend my night wrapping fish.

50
Well today was the day that I turned 50. I really thought I would feel bad about it, but I really feel no different then yesterday when I was 49. I remember when I turned 40 I felt bad and older, but today I feel good. I had my favorite dinner Louie's pizza and Kohr bothers ice cream the perfect meal:+) The big party celebration is this weekend, I'm sure my family will have all kinds of stories about the past 50 years. The party is in PA so we need to travel, but we haven't been there for awhile so it should be OK. So for all you folks out there turning 50 soon don't worry about it because it was no big deal:+) Just another day........

Car

Well we got the kids a car. I guess I should say we got a car for Jack and I. We seem to be driving it all the time. It is good on gas compared to the Suburban. This weekend the guys are going crabbing. I hope they come home with bushels of crabs because I'm really hungry for them. The weather has been great all week. And most important of all this week my children are gainfully employed. Matthew is a bus boy at the local country club and James is slinging fish guts on a fishing boat. I'm so proud of them. It is bitter sweet..they are maturing, but my babies are gone:+( Being a mother is the hardest job ever.

Summer
It has been a while since I posted. But the summer season is here and life is busy. The weather has been in the high 90's for several days. This is very early for 90 degree weather. It feels like August. The other day on the beach I was actually uncomfortable because it was so hot and humid. But I 'll take it anytime over cold and snow. The hotel has been full every weekend. I love when we have friends and family down. This weekend we are having a full house. My children are done with school tomorrow. James has a job, but of course Matthew does not. Well I guess he just won't be driving when the time comes. We also bought a car for the kids a Pontiac Grand Am. We test drove it last night, it belongs to some young girl who is hot. She sat in the back seat with James last night during the test drive. I'm sure he is in school telling all his friends that he was in the back seat with a hot blond. I'm sure he forgot the part where his parents were in the front:+) THE BODY also had an operation last week for a growth on her back leg. She is healing nicely and all is well with her. She actually got a get well card!!!!!
