Construction

Well today the contractor is here along with his merry band of men putting in the new sliding door. This is the smallest part of the contruction that is going to be happening here in the next few months. The smallest part and already my house is a mess. The body is scared also she hates the nail gun. She is hidding out in the beach jeep waiting for us to take her away from all this loud noise. Now today of course my retired husband decided to play golf and let me here with all the work men. They are a humorus bunch. Sometimes they forget I'm in here and I hear them talking about their mother:+) now of course they don't know me, or they would talk a little louder. When they were putting a hole in the wall and busting everything up in the middle of it I asked them if the could save the wallpaper boarder for me!!!!!! I loved it they looked at me like "lady are you crazy" I finally had to laugh and tell them I was just joking, but it was a good laugh for me. They said they had already used it to decorate their saw horses:+) at least they have a sense of humor.

holidays

We had a great time over the holiday. My man and I went out on Wednesday night and saw old friends. I was great. BUT i was a little hung over on Thursday. So I enjoyed my turkey dinner but not as much as i would have if I had not been boozing. But I enjoyed it. Then I drove back with Sandy and went Black Friday shopping. Only this year we did not get up at the crack of dawn. We figured there waw nothing we need that much so we slept until 8:00am. then went shopping and it was not that bad then. I got alot of Christmas shopping done. Which this year is very important since we are going to Germany for Christmas. so I have to have Christmas here early. Now the weeks will fly by because I have so much to do. Why is it the month of Decemeber seems like 24 hours long and the month of January is like 24 years long?????

Going Home

Well today I was packing to go back to PA for our first family official visit as out-of-staters. This seems really strange. First I have to pack everything. Not like when we lived there and came here where I had everything. Now I have nothing in PA I must trasport everything. I don't like that. It is way to much work, because I as the mother of the family need to pack for everyone. That is nothing new. So we will leave in the moring for a three hour drive to sit and gorge ourselves for Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to that:+) But like all other Thanksgiving holidays I will drive back to Delaware that night just so i can get up at 4:00am for Black Friday shopping!!!!!!!!!

Credit Cards

You have to love them. Today I order new kitchen cabniets and counter top and used a credit card. Now this credit card I just got. They sent me an application for a card and I don't even have a job. So I signed up. Charged my new kitchen and got flyer miles so my man and I can go on vacation for free. Only in America. Each month I plan to pay the bill then go charge the rest of the things we need to complete construction. By the time I am done I should have a trip around the world paid for in free points:+)

beach day

It was in the low 70's today in southern DE, so we went to the beach for a little this afternoon. I was great to feel the sand and hear the ocean. Everyone was fishing but no bites.

Well it's over the house in PA is no longer ours. Someone else now ownes the house that holds all of my memories. I'm sad:+( But now it is time to start living our retirement dream. I just have to think of that now. Now it will be time to make this house our home. Now this house will hold all of our memories.

Punkin Chunkin

In the great state of Delaware they have a tradtion the firtst weekend of Nov. People from all over the US gather in a large open corn field that has been recently harvested. They all come in their pick-up trucks and crampers. With their grills, coolers and kegs of beer they gather. You ask why? They gather to watch men, women and children roll in the chunkin machines they have been building and perfecting all year long. Now you ask what is a chunkin machine. Well a chunkin machine has many shapes, sizes, and colors. But they all have the same philosophy. To see who can throw a pumkin the furthest. Yes a pumpkin. I suppose the reason they do this the first weekend in Nov. is to use up all the pumkins that were not carved into Jack-O-Lantrens. This should be an olympic sport. There should also be prizes for the best dressed at the punkin-chunkin. It is really amasing how many ways the color orange can be used. Once a pumpkin is throw they have the chasers on four wheels who drive as quickly as they can and make lots of dust all to measure how far it was thrown. Everyone should experience at least one punkin-chunkin in life. It is right up there with attending a college football game.

Retirement

Well my man is officially retired, but i have not seen him much. He is too busy cleaning out the house in PA. The house that should have been cleaned up and out weeks ago. I just wanted to serve him breakfast in bed on his first day of retirement. But instead he got up and drove the u-haul back to PA. So now the garage is so full you can not get any cars in it. The house is busting at the seams, the oldest son got kicked off the football team because of his big mouth. The youngest son has his period AGAIN. Well retirment can only get better from here, I hope...

cold and windy

It is a cold and windy day in southern Delaware. But the sun is shinning so that helps. Yesterday was report card day. The oldest son still does not care. The youngest son did OK but still not great, considering I pay for a tutor every week. My gorlfriend is coming down this week, to visit and stay with the chirldren while we go to a wedding in new castle. it should be fun. I just got off the phone with the cell phone company I talk to them every month when the bill comes out. People who do not check their bill and just pay it are getting ripped off because every month I find at least 20.00 in charges that should not be there. Also today I have sent e-mails to best buy for ripping me off via a gift card that was suppose to be 50.00 and was only 20.00. Of course they said go back to the store which I have already done so I will just keep e-mailing them until they get tired of me and give me another 30 dollars. I guess this is why my children are a pain in the butt because their mother can be also.

settlement

My man just called and we have a settlement date a final date. The date that I will leave the only home I have ever known in my married life. Our first married home. The home with all our Christmas trees are planted in the front yard. The home with my lilac bush that grows sideways. The home were our children first lived. The home were Nicky our fisrt dog is buried. The home were all of our family gatherings were held. The home were all the pool parties were. The home were Elvis drowned in our pool. The home that we got snowed in at, several times. The home were my goddaughter first wet my bed. The home were I cooked my first dinner. and the home were my man and i did------in front of the fireplace. The home were I always ran in to the garage wall because I could never judge the distance correctly while parking the car. The home were Stefanie first came into our lives. The home were the mice would try to live at in the winter. The home with so much storage space, and the coolest laundrey room. The home with sleepless nights because our children were up all night. The home with the nicest yard in the neighborhood. The home with my weeping cherry tree, a mothers day gift from my children. I could go on forever but just know it is a home that has a lot of love in it. 25 years worth of it. I will miss our home in PA it was the best.

Frost is on the Pumpkin

Well we all know what that means. Yes it did frost in the great state of Delaware this weekend. We had to turn the heat on. Well my husband and children did I would still have the windows open if it was up to me. because I'm always hot. It was a busy weekend. Moving things and we had visitors for the weekend. It is suppose to get warm here by Thursday in the 70's yea. Maybe a beach day.

coach

This is a raw breed of human. Especially if the coach is a male. My son's football coach is about to get on my B list. He thinks that he can over rule me (a parent) when it comes to benching a player who's grades are not up to standards. He told my son that he will only play him if he needs too. I have instructed that he not play until his grades are improved. He told my son to tell me that if i need you yell at him for playing my son, well then so be it. Spoken like a true male egotistic, what female is going to tell me what to do IDIOT. Now I have already spoken to the VP at the school about this coach. he told me that he is a little shallow!! Yea tell me something i don't know. So now what I'm I as a parent suppose to do? I would love to wave my magic wand and banish this person from the earth, but I'm all out or magic these days. Also the team is not the good. They try hard but AGAIN the coach is not very good. This guy is so out of shape i could probably beat him in a race. So not only is his brain out of shape so is his body. So i will go sleep on this and try to come up with some logic to the male coach species.

Last Day of summer

What a great day in the mid 80's. Too bad for me I didn't get to go to the beach, the day just got away from me. But i did get to go to the OC boardwalk yesterday and that was a good time it was nice weather yesterday also. We go home to PA this weekend for a few things. But after this weekend it will be Thanksgiving until we get home again. I have dinner in the oven James is cuttting the grass and Matthew is at football practice. And the body is up and about. I wish this weather would stay all winter long. That's why I need to live in mexico when the kids are in college.

Kids

Well today first of all was a Monday not my favorite day of the week. Then #1 son deciced he was too sick to attend school. I left him stay home only because he also complained yesterday of an upset stomach. So I was not on vacation today I was on Mom duty today. Usually from 7:35am to 4:15 pm I 'm on vacation, Monday thru Friday. Well on Tuesday things will be back to normal because he is better now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy days

i booked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are going to germany for chritmas and new year's. i'm so excited right now. i already talked to stef and the palnning has begun. I e-mailed Klaus and Rosie, so i'm sure he is already charging up his video camera!!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait to see my girls. I miss them so much it has been a year. Why does germany have to be so far away? Well now i will have to figure out what to do for the boys, shall we have x-mas in Delaware before or after? that is the big question right now. well i have some time to figure that one out.

Monday

Well another week closer to my man retiring. The weather is getting cooler. my girlfriend Nin is coming to visit for a few days. YEA another women to talk to and hang with. My dad and Kathy were down last week. We ate and went to the slots. no winning this time. Still own two houses which really sucks. Althought we did find someone to rent this one if we need too. nin's sister was diagnosed with breast cancer this past week. She was a very positive out look which is half the battle. I told nin I would shave my head with her if they need me too. Since the youngest sister won't I'll step up to the plate. i always wondered what my head looks like. I'm looking for plane fare to germany for christmas but have not found anything yet. Since gas prices are going down, why isn't airfare????????

Sunday Afternoon

Well today I attended a bridal shower for a friend's daughter. She is a very nice girl, good drinker too. Well I had to drive to New Castle county. That is the upper most county in Delaware. Now remember there are only three counties in Delaware. It takes about 90 minutes to drive from the top of the state to the bottom. I find that is just another Sunday afternoon drive, but people here think it is long. Well anyway how showers have changed over the years. No longer are you at your mother's house or you best frined's. Now you are at a resturant with a full course meal. No more finger sandwiches and fruit punch. Also forget about only close friends and family. There were about 70 people at this shower. I can't imagine what the wedding is going to be like. They are going to need a U-Haul just to take the shower gifts. But gone are the days of games at the shower and stories of when the blushing bride was a baby. I was still an enjoyable Sunday afternoon. What really made it a great day was that the Eagles lost today also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost Heaven

Well things are finally starting to settle in. The children and I are settled in the great state of DE. My man retires in six weeks, the kids are back in school, and "the body and i have all day to do what we want. She sleeps. I on the other hand am trying to consolidate two homes into one. not an easy task. The weather is changing, the days are shorter and the nights cooler. I can now walk on the beach anytime I choose. It is a great feeling. So I am now almost in heaven, once my man is here and the houses are settled into one house I will be in heaven.

hot!!!!!

today is another hot day in delaware. we can not even go to the beach becuae the sand burns your feet and it is not fit for man or beast outside. today i only went outside to put the garbage out for pick-up thursday morning. and that little work made the river flow between my cleavage. the kids were ok today considering they do not want to go outside either. the heat is holding us prisoner in our home. just like a blizzard would do in winter time. so i ask myself which is worse?????? i think the blizzard is. I would rather be hot then cold, and have a swimming suit on instead of a winter coat.

on-line again

finally we are hooked up on-line. it was a long hard computer break for me. i couldn't play poker for over a month. or read any blogs. now i know how herion addicts feel. the summer has been great. it is soooooo hot here, even i the sun goddess have been sweating. on tuesday it is suppose to be 100 degrees and humid. i may have to stay home and not go to the beach it may be too hot. the body is hot even in the A/C. it has been so hot that even as i am getting ready for the beach there is a river flowing between my cleavage. not just a stream i mean a river. the sand has been so hot you can not even walk on it without shoes.
