Lets' start up

I have not posted for a long time but I'm feeling like it now so here it goes. It was a great summer and I miss the warm days already. I can not believe it is almost Christmas again. And along with Christmas comes the arrival of the first Christmas card. And this year like so many before the winner and still champ is..........drum roll please.....................SJ:))))))))) So she wins a free stay at the hotel. What a lucky girl!!!! The weather here got cold yesterday so now we have to put on heavy clothing and that really sucks because it makes you look even fatter:(( Well that's enough for today I don't want to wear myself out blogging I have things to to.

After The Snow

Ok it's been a while since two major snow storms hit lower Delaware and still school is having a two hour delay. The school was closed for a whole week, then they gave them off on President's day probably because they didn't have enough days off!! And now the past two days have been 2 hour delays...give me a break. BUT that is not the only thing that is wrong relating to snowstorms. It seems here no one needs to shovel the sidewalks. People are still walking in the streets because of snow on the sidewalks. And the streets still are not free from snow!! I think they need a school for local governments to attend on "snow removal."

OK I surrender, give up, relinquish, throw in the snow shovel please stop snowing:(((( It rained during the night which melted some of the snow. But since lower Delaware doesn't understand snow removal etiquette I'm sure the storm drains are all under a mountain of snow and now things will flood. BUT just when I thought things might be looking up here it comes again...snow!! It is snowing again the kids have been off school since 2/8 and the school has already announced it's closing till 2/16 I don't think there is enough Yuengling to help out with this situation. What is a women to do when confined to the house with her loving family??

I know it has been awhile but things have been crazy. The holidays were busy good but busy. The a family crisis in PA that had me spend a lot of time the past few weeks up there. Hopefully things will soon get better and i will not have to travel as much. AND now we have snow to deal with. Not just a little snow. I mean a boat load of snow 2 feet. Yes I said 2 fricking feet:((((( So now we will start the clean up of the snow here are some pictures from today's blizzard.

Picture Day

Today is the day for my colonoscopy:+( I'm sitting here getting hungry waiting to go (it's only at 11:15). So I thought I would blog about the experience so far. Yesterday I had to do the prep everyone says that's the worse part. I personally did think it was that bad. Drinking the stuff is bad after about 4 glasses you feel like you want to vomit. You have to drink about a gallon of liquid 8 oz every 30 to 45 minutes. They give you flavor packs to put in it. You can choose from cherry, pineapple, orange or lemon-lime. I chose cherry, which may have been a mistake. Now the thought of cherry turns my stomach. I heard horror stories of how people just start exploding before they can get to the bathroom. Some say it just comes out with no warning. So I was prepared for the worst. BUT that didn't happen to me. It took about 4 hours to start working and when it did I always had enough time to head to the bathroom. People said to take reading material along because you will be there for awhile. Also another thing that I didn't experience. I went in did my business which didn't take that long and went back out to the couch to watch the soaps. So to sum things up.......for me so far it hasn't been that bad. Stayed turn for more information and pictures:+))))))))) Just Kidding no pictures I know that I look good from the inside out!!

Christmas Vacation in DE

The house is all decorated for Christmas inside and out. When we moved to PA to DE my husband got rid of all his outside Christmas decorations. He said he was done with that.....Yea right. This is the man who had to put in extra electrical breakers just for his Christmas lights. BUT he said he always did it for the kids. So now here he are with Clark Griswold of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation living with us again. Well I don't think he ever left. He has gone out and gotten a musical player that makes all the lights flash with the music and has giant Christmas balls on the trees out front. The bight side of all of this is he did not put up his blow up Santa and Frosty this year. One of the neighbors called and told him how great his yard looks... THANKS now there will be no stopping him!! He has told me already that after Christmas he is going out to buy another musical player so he can put up even more lights next year.

No Mirrors

After last nights AMA awards show I have come to the conclusion that they have no mirrors in that building. Let's start with Paula Abdul who looked like a little mermaid in a big mermaids dress. Now I didn't see the whole show because it was just too much to watch all of it but the parts I did see made me glad i didn't see it all. Next we have Kate Hudson. Why would a flat chested person whom we should call indent were a dress slit down to her navel. AND then bend over almost exposing her nipples. She had to hold her dress the whole time she was on stage to keep from over exposing herself on live TV. I'm sure A-Rod like it he was also there I wonder if they were a package deal for the show? Maybe for Christmas he should give her two baseballs:+) Then we had Whitney Huston....OK from the front she didn't look too bad but that side view. I don't know which was bigger her gut or her ass. And why would you try to make an Icon out of a washed up drug addict? Lady Gagga is always dressed different but please that flesh colored Klingon suit with the ribs was way over the top. And now for the falls it was kinda nice to see Jennifer Lopez fall on her ass just because she has a big one to fall on:+) AND last but not least Adam Lambert's fall or roll what ever; was nothing compared to the porn show he put on. I really have to question the producers of these shows and what they show on live TV in prime time, not HBO or pay for view but prime time. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan but she was the smartest one of the evening because she was there:+)

It's almost Thanksgiving can you believe it. Where does the time go. This year we will be staying home for Thanksgiving because James has to work on BLACK FRIDAY:+( Sorry for his luck. But I'm getting in to the holiday spirit. Yesterday I made potato filling and today pumpkin rolls. Jack also put up his Christmas decorations outside since it was a nice day. He can actually put them up in a few hours compared to the few days it use to take him when we lived in PA. I remember he had to put in extra breakers for all the lights he put up. It was like National Lampoons Christmas vacation:+) This week will be a busy week cooking dinner and then helping at the inn, it's full starting Thanksgiving night for the weekend. PLUS my children have off from school starting Wednesday....Think I'll stop and get an extra case of beer for the holiday weekend:+)

We have had a bad storm the past 2 days. Today it's winding down but another high tide this afternoon will take it's toll on the Delaware coast line. This is the worst I have seen down here

Yes it has been too long since I blogged. I will post a birthday picture of my babies at 17 years old. Also how many days until summer. It is cold and raining here today a north east storm is upon us. Later I will go down to the harbor at high tide and see is anything if floating away. Jack is done working at the local golf course for the winter. I'm still working on weekends. Jack has also been doing lots of fishing. See the pictures. he was so happy with his monster fish:+)

Back to Blogging

Well summer is over and it feels like fall is over too and winter is here already. I had to put long pants on yesterday already. I mean it's only October. So I guess I will start blogging more now the the colder weather is settling in. I'm still working a few days a week which is good and so is Jack. Today is a cold rainy day:+( Even the body is settling in for the winter she now sleeps 23 instead of 22 hours a day. We had a great summer this year. It was so busy. The hotel was full from May until October. In two weeks my babies will be 17 years old already. Where has the time gone.

Today is Finn's second birthday already. Time is going by so fast these days. I wish I could be in Germany today to celebrate:+(

Labor Day Already

Can you believe it this weekend is Labor Day. The official end to summer is coming way too fast. But a lot will be happening this weekend. First on Saturday Stefanie, Rene, Paulina and Finn come to visit for two weeks. I'm so excited to see them. I'm going to take them on the beach, play dress up with Paulina get to know Finn since he was only a few months old the last time I saw him. I will shop with Stefanie and drink beer with Rene. Sounds like fun to me. Also this week is our annual Labor/Birthday/end of summer party on the beach. This is the day we stay until we have to turn on the headlights on the cars. So there will be some serious drinking this weekend. I hope my liver can hold out for one more good weekend:+) Then after this party weekend. on Tuesday my 180 day vacation begins yes my kids go back to school:+) "It's the most wonderful time of the year!!"

I can't believe how fast summer has gone. It seems like yesterday I was waiting for the hot weather. Now I'm wondering how many days of hot weather we will have yet. (I hope lots) Labor day is in two weeks and then our German family will be here for a visit, I can't wait. I've been working way to many days but I think that will soon slow down also. My garden is still producing many vegetables. BUT now we have an intruder a groundhog was sitting in my garden on his hind legs eating a tomato!! Things are going to have to change there he will either have to vacate or be relocated like Sam's squirrels. BUT the only good thing about summer coming to an end is........the start of school!!!!!!!!!! :)

Life has been so busy the past few weeks I have not had time to post. My man had a birthday he turned 60. Yes I said 60. I also had a birthday and so did my sister so we have been in the birthday mode. Plus I have been working a lot. The weather has been great, we are getting in lots of beach time. The hotel is pretty full for August and then in September our German family comes to visit:+) Also Katy had her baby on Jack's birthday his name is Miles and he has the most beautiful strawberry blond hair and lots of it. I hope I can go and visit soon. The boys went to Canada for a few days fishing with some friends. They came home last night all smelly and gross. Four men in a cabin for several days need I say anymore!! hope you like the pictures of Jack's birthday.

The July 4th holiday was great. The weather was hot and the beer was cold. We had the hotel full. And the beach was also full. But we got there early so it was OK. Also on the beach we had a tribute to Michael Jackson we played his music and had WOODY dressed as him people even stopped by to have their pictures taken with him. Yesterday was the memorial service for MJ and it was a tear jerker. Yes the man was strange but he was also a great entertainer. Thanks for the music Michael. The weather this week is suppose to be great so hopefully we will get to the beach a few days during the week. The next few weeks are going to be busy, this weekend is Lisa's birthday and next weekend is Jack's 60th birthday celebration!! I have a hard time thinking about Jack turning 60. Well at least he doesn't act like he is 60 and that's great:+)

NO BEER

OMG!!!!! I go to my regular beer store and they are out yes i said out of my beer. I said this can't be true when does the beer truck pull in? They said it only comes on Thursday. Thursday I said I could go into shock by then. BUT hold on yes they found a cold case for me AND when the beer truck arrives they are putting my name on 2 cases so I should be good for the weekend. I did ask them how many cases they order a week of Yungeling Lager Light(bottles) they said 15. Of course I probably drink most of it:+) But they said it is a big seller so they are increasing the order so this doesn't happen to me again. The one guy at the beer store even gave me a hug when he saw the horror on my face when they said NO BEER:+(

Today my sweet baby James could drive solo. He left at 8:30am to drive all over the county. He did come back for food around noon then left again. Came home around 7:00pm to shower and change out of his work clothing and left again. My baby is gone. I stood in the driveway this morning watching him drive away and could still see him driving his Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car up and down the driveway with Matthew hanging off the side, telling me they where going off to work to be the garbage man:+)

I'm too the end of my rope with the weather. Clouds, chilly and RAIN. When will the warm weather arrive mother nature? Why are you punishing us? Yes you give us a nice day or two every now and then, BUT then a slap in the face days of unpleasant weather. Please stop it's too depressing.
